Article about: Thanks Jerry I got a little excited when I thought it was '50' as this would have been something to do with the gunnery/turret system

Default MY first post, it won't be my last!

Hi all, i'm Jerry. I'm have an avid airfield and WWII aircraft interest, mostly when i'm armed only with my camera and I'm not overly knowledgable about the airfields, crews or aircraft.

Living in Stamford, Lincolnshire I'm surrounded by disused RAF & USAAF airfields and with winter fast approaching the best time of the year is nearly here.

I would like to say, I don't have a M/D anymore, so all of my finds are surface finds, hope you enjoy and thanks for looking, here goes..............

Hi Jerry and welcome to the forum

That lantern is awesome, as is the 50cal you have. It always amazes me what is still lying around on the surface even after 65+ years !!

Stamford is a good base for visiting old airfields, as I am sure you're aware, as you've got airfields all over the place within a few minutes drive !! Just off the top of my head, I can think of 8 all within easy driving distance

Next time you go out, give me a shout. I'll tag along with my MD and we can have a good search of one or two of the bases near you

    Cheers

    Steve T

PS What's the code of the AM switch ? I can't make out if it's 5C or 50.
