I shudder at the thought, of a grenade detonating in the hands of a digger in the middle of a dense hard-to-get-to wooded area - let alone one of those monster mortars exploding.

i thought that. for sure it is dangerous. But wish i had one, disarmed of course

Bill i found a 75mm shell case on the position about 4 years ago whether it was one of Remy's from the PAK i don't know but i like to think it could be !!

Now that is cool Paul! If it was in his position, then I bet it has a very good chance of being his! A real piece of history that one could never buy and get the same feeling from, I'm sure.



Just finished the thread. You guys must have had a blast. The Auwere Bridgehead (and the East/West Sack) have always interested me, so I was excited to see those pics. The MG position was very cool and crazy to learn of there fate.

Yes it was a nice trip guys. Paul is a portable encyclopedia when it comes to the history of Ostfront, the divisions who participated and the soldiers/officers involved.
I wish to go back one day.
P.s. i had a busy day at work today therefore no available free time for posting more pics. But definitely i'll continue on Monday.
