Need help on how to preserve Zinc relics

Article about: I bought these 3 great looking relic GABs a while ago from WAF. They were all unissued pieces that somehow ended underground, the seller (who also dug them up) found them in fortress Breslau

    Thank you all for the replies, i think i'll try the vaseline method.
    I'm a bit scared to use lime juice to boil it in because it contains C6H8O7 (citric acid) which dissolves zinc

    Hi In your case i will first with dust of graphite pencil careful with an brush shaded the badges. Then will warm up some bee wax and coat it.

    Yes it is acid, just like baking soda is an alkali. It is all to do with the concentration of the mix.
    Vaseline and beeswax will only mask the existing corrosion - but whatever you are comfortable with.
