New UK Airfield explore, with interesting finds..

On those DH brackets is there anything that says Radiamp co/, these bits look almost the same as ive seen at my uncles old factory many years ago, they made a lot of metal fixings for the Mosquito and there were boxes of them stored all over but i never took any notice of them, i assume they were dumped when the company folded

and thank you very much, this is the first time an id has been suggested for my heavy duty brackets (picture 50 etc) and it seems to fit the bill. I've checked several pics of Merlin engines No1 bearings and my brackets look the same. I'm thrilled with this because several aircraft types flew from the airfield using the Merlin as power plant, obviously including the Mosquito. But I just need to ask would they have been made of alloy to lighten the weight?
Sadly Ive checked the relic in picture 70 for a No 300 serial number but have not found one, but as several aircraft makes flew from the airfield perhaps it is a radio channel changing plaque but used on another type.
The plug in image 76 is in very good condition being well marked and retaining much of its original paint, like many the airfield closed just after the end of WW2 so it will date to that period. I didnt know Trisure were still trading, but it's good to hear, that company certainly has a long pedigree. Thanks for all your help

Ive had a very good check of the DH bracket but had no luck in finding a Radiamp Co marking which is a shame. But it may well still be the same type of bracket because Im guessing several companys manufactured the same piece.

All the main bearing blocks were Aluminium, and usually marked with the position number too

Oh, and the brown Bakelite torpedo looking things with the wire through the end were tensioners for the radio aerial wire, The mast supported the wire and these were fitted at the end to keep the tension correct.

Well it proves one thing, they had nits in the hair in those days, the nit combs havent changed much over the years lol

Well spotted.
I initially thought that as well but its so small (compare to the British water bottle for scale) I was wondering if it was perhaps a moustache comb for the RAF types?

That quite possible LS, if it wasnt for getting the knots out, i suppose it could be used for getting the nits out as well, nits knots, blimey i sound like Dr Suess

Hello LS, glad the finds are still coming! The black bakelite tube, bottom left in pic 64 is a warning lamp from an aircraft instrument panel. Fitted to many different types. Lots of interesting mysteries still.
