Odd find on the Eastern Front

I tend to lean in that direction too. But hard to say. They where not that deep but being on a slope soil could of course have eroded over time. I would just imagine that if they were buried for safe keeping, they would be in a box of some sort.

I was lying. We actually found these coins in a cave next to 10 dead NKVD officers and all their belongings.

Did they have their Hero of the Soviet Union medals as well ?

These are a contemporary loss around the dates of the coins ... and have nothing to do with the bunkers
Most probably a dropped purse ..... ... leather has rotted away ..
