Ye gods. Thinning down the search to just a few Panzers and maybe just one!?! What a result that'd be. Fantastic!

Steve as this Panzer IV find was in the area between Tilly and Hottot it is almost certainly from the II Abt Panzer Lehr Regiment , probably from the 6th or 8th Kompanie , they were fighting around Tilly and Lingevres and this area was initially a lying up point prior ro or after any action.

If i can pin it down further i'll let you know

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for that!! I was guessing it would be Abt. II as the first Bn would have had Panthers I think. We didn't find any more Pz.IV related items in that field, on a field opposite was a large panel of schurzen though.

Last week we went back to that area but slightly more the West, we dug up 4 British Helmets, German bayonet and severl other items, I'll post pictures on here soon.

    All the best,

    Steve

Yes the I Abt were Panthers , they were actually I Abt Panzer Regt 6 which was seconded to the Panzer Lehr
