    Hello Matteo,
    The buttons are indeed french, no question about it....
    the first three pictures show one of the rare german prewar aluminium butterdishes. Too bad the lid is very damaged, but at least the glass insert is in good condition(lid missing)...
    Here's one of mine (the big pattern) in good condition, unfortunatly the insert lid is missing as usual (99% of them are missing)...
