It is a very interesting site indeed. It used to be updated quite regularly, at least once a month. The last few years updates have dropped off considerably.

I think there is some overlap between this site and that one as some of the pictures appear in both.

Man I just got home an just popped a top. So here we GOOOOO
This shot will let you know where you are!
Mt Suribachi in the back ground.

He told me that most of the tunnels are flooded so you could not go very far back.

But that there were alot of caves that are left as is.

With the remains scattered about.


He has some of totally rust Arisaka rifles .I saw a type 99 just pressed in to the mud nothing but the bolt knob sticking out .

Even the sea holds on to the relic's slowly rusting away.

That is what he sent, when I asked for some cool pic's of Iwo Jima. I know he has ALOT from when he was there. I'll see if he will just burn it to CD and send it to me.

The one pic looks like US flame thrower canisters???? anybody familiar with Japanese equipment? What those might be?
