The clue's written on them Steve...
Time delay dials from RAF No. 849 Fuzes, used with 4.5" TI (Target Indicator) flare clusters.
Due to the 70-second delay plus the Safe position they are from MkIII 849s.
All the best,
PB
Do you know.....I sometimes wonder about what I am thinking when I first look at some relics. I made a stupid mistake and read the fuze as FUSE !!! Assumed they were something electrical. What a dumbass.
Great ID PB and many thanks. I think the 848 and 849 used the same arming vane. When I recovered these they were in amongst a pile of rusty sheets.........the remains of the cover obviously. Damn.....I also remember seeing a couple of the dial knobs ! At least I remember where they were....... Thanks again PB
Thanks to you others as well for the comments And yes CB.......I'll post a pic of the display when I sort it tomorrow

Pic 7 on the cleaned bits, right of the dimmer, is an oxygen mask clip from a flying helmet. Keep them coming!

Yep, indeed it is ian_ . When I first dug it I thought it was an American clip but it is of slightly different construction, which only came to light when I cleaned it. Do you think it is RAF or USAAF ?
