Hi Everyone,

I've finally got around to uploading some of my cleaned finds.

First up are a few different British aerial bomb transport nuts.



Next a nice inert, heavy solid metal US aerial bomb transport nut that could in use be left on the bomb when it was dropped if required to penetrate the target before exploding. If this was the case the bomb would have been fuzed at the tail.





A British 10 1/2 pound inert aerial practice bomb, the front section contains lead, when in use the rear section would have contained a smoke compound for daylight use and a flash bang compound for night use. Sadly as I cleaned this, part of the rusted rear section crumbled to dust.



RAF No 28 bomb pistols, I'm very pleased to have got the brass one the first Ive found.



and its nicely marked .



The inert remains of either No42 or No848 fuses.



In good condition you can still see the transferred markings.



I found quite a few of these British 20mm disintegrating MG links, sadly most were damaged but these are complete. The 20mm case is just for reference.



Found near each other, the heal has a positive id as RAF, I'm wondering if the sole is too?



The grip around the edge is in the same style as the heal, nicely marked MARVEL size 8-9.



Very pleased with this, A nice WW2 Utility butter knife, the blade is only 3 inches long saving 50% of the stainless steel from a standard sized one. I've now got to locate a period handle to reconstruct it.



A selection of war dated pottery with a couple of RAF marked bits.



Unidentified thick leather item still with a buckle attached.



An unidentified control knob, I'm thinking probably off a private purchase radio set.





Aero electric cable plug.



with nice markings.



A tubular pipe fitting, perhaps from the oxygen supply system?

Hi Lucky Strike,

I particularily like the 848 fuzes, the condition of them is fantastic, esp the ink stamps.

Picture No 10 looks like a Bicycle tool kit bag, the type that fits onto the saddle.

My next lot.

Small bore alloy tubing and fitting, perhaps its hydraulic?



Insulated tubing, I like where the insulation had split and it was bound with tape for repair which is still evident all these years later. Im fairly sure this is oxy tubing?



More alloy tubing oxy or hydraulic?



A mixed bag of electrical fittings, I like the cable with plug ends.



10B Radio Wireless/Radar Aerial Mast equipment and insulators..... hmm all well and good, but what is it? it seems to be a socket for a jack plug?

Looks like some sort of lamp shade?



Not sure what this alloy componet is, sadly cant make out the marking. Could it be the top cover from a mic or perhaps head phone?





A small piece of alloy, but what makes it interesting are the two studs fitted.



My favourite find, I was thrilled to see the paint and stenciling when I washed this, sadly I cant find any stamped markings to the alloy. The top word is perhaps BACK, any idea on lower word or use. You can see three different lots of painting, first was a greyish blue, then a richer sky blue and finally if you look to the top or bottom it was painted black.



You can see the rivets had hooked or holed ends.



Aero alloy marked 712?



Aero bracket nicely marked A1/42R 16D96?6.



10H Radio Connectors, Discs Indicating, Fuses, Leads, Plugs and Sockets and Ancillary Parts,
Holders and Terminals?



A well marked elecrical fitting base.



I'm also very pleased to have got this Inspection plate, it would have been clamped on to what ever was inspected.

A Mosquito No 98 rubber bracket footing probably for electrical cabling.



I found a few of these, these are the first two cleaned, Im assuming they're fuel drum caps, I like the one still showing much of the original red paint and markings 1941.

Thats great Thank you, I think you're probably right about pic 10, there were quite a few pieces of old bikes lying around so it makes sense.
Cheers Martin, it's always amazing how many of even the smallest bits seem to have markings, so always worth taking them home for a clean and check.

ref item 29 these look like plugs for the fuze wells ,removed before fitting the fuze. attached image shows one i had which was used for this purpose

Nice finds LS. Are you sure that radio dial is not off an AM radio? Looks similar to the ones on the R1082 receiver. I'd check pics of the other receivers........
