    Default RAF gunnery range finds

I was working away recently and realised I would be near an old range used by the RAF,So I thought I would combined work and the hobby.

Here are my finds,Still need to clean the projectiles,But the 20mm cleaned up very nice,But still need a little more cleaning.

    Hi Steve

Yes, Brass survives better in sand as it does not have the acidity levels of soil,Only downside is that the sand errodes the brass a little due to the movement of the tides,So some of the cases have a little pitting.
It's the first time in years that I have returned to this site,It's really clean now compared to the eighties.

    Regards Gary

You have a good selection of British and Canadian 20mm Hispano cases there.

BMARCO - British Manufacturing and Research Co., Grantham
    K2 - Kynoch, Standish
RH - Raleigh Cycle Co., Nottingham
BBC - Barking Brassware Co. Ltd, Barking
    DAC - Dominion Arsenal, Quebec

I cannot read the stained case third from left in top row.

Coincidentally, I was shooting and filming at the old BMARCO range in Lincolnshire last weekend, which is now owned by a private ballistics testing company.

Nice finds. I love the way the 20mm have cleaned up; nice that they look brassy instead of going coppery.
