The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

    1st July 1916

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Double post, oops! I went looking around to the woods around our other fields, I found a few interesting spots, and a really nice looking belt, but I think its post-war, neat anyway. Then I found a cute little teapot with aLu marking on it, continued down the forest path and found an open area with a dump spot looking hole. Dug around and its all really wet mud.

And Paul, I live in Pello, Finland. It's a really nice place with lots of countryside around it. It was burned down by the germans during WWII and our home is around 500m from the road the germans traveled to Rovaniemi.
