Nice cover from a Mosquito. But which part? S 98 1045 6J
You can see that it has been fitted and then removed, repainted and re-stenciled.

I found one time before last, the DH museum came up with (probably) bombing camera port cover!
Mine's not in such good a condition as yours, that looks great!
So, another part number for the database: S 98 1045 6J; Cover, Camera Port, Bombing....probably!
nice collection of finds, or great cleaning... job well done!
[QUOTE=Salzburg;1017965]Third visit this year saw a lot of foliage to battle through but the pond was dry so I ran the MD over it. Nothing of interest unless you like rusty bikes! Strategy this time was to run an MD search over the general area on high discrimination to try and pinpoint areas of likely find concentration. Turned up a few interesting bits in the odd corners of the site that haven't been searched before. Lots of finds in the vinegar at the moment and in boxes on Mrs Salzburg's patio awaiting further attention! To start with:
Attachment 588577 Attachment 588578
Attachment 588594
Lots of these but no markings on them
They are Dzus springs, used on engine access panels and the likes. The larger hole would have contained a Dzus fastner which would lock into position with a quarter of a turn. Used on many aircraft types. Cheers Gary
