Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
What a great find!....
That looks like a very good example of a genuine pathfinders badge to me.
From the regulations:
Item, Stores, Ref 22H/629. Dress Regulations state that it is to be awarded to qualified personnel upon posting to the Pathfinder Force for aircrew duties, or if not qualified, upon becoming qualified.
The airman is allowed to continue wearing it upon completion of a tour and posting out of PFF or if unable to complete a tour through wound or incapacitation. 'otherwise the badge will be withdrawn when the holder ceases to be employed on aircrew duties in the Pathfinder Force'.
Denis.
Thanks Steve , certainly looks to be a very genuine PFF Badge !
