This rusty lump would be attached to the side of a 50cal and is the part the flexifeed fits on to. Does anyone know if its got a proper name.?

All types fit both Hughes Aircraft Co. and Smoot-Holman manufactured flexible tracking, the two main patterns used in B-17s and B-24s.

The vent looks similar to the demister between the windscreens on a B-17, give me 5 minutes to check.
