Article about: Hi everyone iv been back at it again. Today i took some pictures as they came out the ground sorry there not very good i was useing a phone cam. lots of photos to come so keep poping back. H

I have just been rummaging through a heap of B-17 exhausts & cannot find anything like that, the 'cow horn' to flexi joint has three studs with springs to enable flexing but these studs are smaller & are threaded at both ends.

The stud inside the spring is in two sections, one male the other female.
I think the found items are No.2 in the drawing.

They look like the parts for sure but the photographs do not give scale or indicate if both ends are threaded....

That's better! OK now I can see it in more detail & with scale, it doesn't have any internal threading which will confirm it is a 'football' flexi joint half stud, this would fit into the other female section located on the other half of the flex joint therefore would allow for significant expansion & contraction at extremes of temperature experienced at this vital area.
