Very nice find!! The only question I have is why aren't you digging on the crash site? Ha
My unissued one cost me £350. And I think that was very under priced.
Do you know anything about the B17?? The bomb group ect?
Andy
Hi Andy,
I think this vest has a little more history. Because its likely, if a German MG gunner had used it as his personal protection then he may well have got it from a USAAF wreck site. But finding where would be well nigh impossible now, unless by the slim chance it still shows a USAAF airmans name that could be attributed to a specific aircraft and crash site.
Its a very interesting find.
Hope all is well with you.
Cheers.
