Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.

But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Mate this is a strange piece where did it come from.

SS Kama was the original 23rd SS Div , Waffen Gebirgs Div , Kama- Kroatische No 2 , they only existed between June-Oct 1944 and it is believed that they never saw combat.

All I can suggest is that bored soldiers in any armies do the oddest things....

If this is from a vehicle as suggested, it could have at one time been assigned to that unit.

    Cheers, Ade.

Kama didn't exist in Feb 1943 and the Aufkl Abt in even the premier SS Divisions consisted of onlyone battailon. Kama never really got off the ground as a unit before it was disbanded in Oct 44.

This piece is marked with II / Aufkl Abt, the II being a designatioon for the 2nd Bn of a unit , so we have a second Bn of a unit which would have only been of one Bn strength , i hope thsat makes sense !!

As a unit designation it is completely wrong and for that reason i must admit i'm not too keen
