    Bulls eye?

Just kidding, I have no clue.

Very good looking helmet in excellent relic condition.

A great find - as usual. Thanks for showing.

Hi Andrey, looks like a spring green cammo over a winter white with some decal poking through. If so, do any red flowered plants grow on the steppe in the Spring? Maybe the red dot was to help blend in? ....or, a less crazy idea is that it meant something to the rest of the squad - like he was the radio man maybe......who can know?

    Danmark, very interesting ideas ...
but white spots is not the paint. This precipitate salts, carbonates (carbonate salts - calcium, magnesium). It is typical for soils of our region ....

Maybe it mark a medic? Now it is difficult to know ...

My friend in Volgograd said that several years ago, he dug a German helmet with a yellow circular spot.

Therefore, there is a new idea.
this helmet for "unter officer"/officer. And red is the color of artillery.

Having read all of the above, its a unlikely place to put a spot on one side only. Most armies put a mark on front or rear of headgear, this could only be seen on the left side so ???

Maybe they put the man on the far RIGHT flank and mark his helmet for all on his left to see? .........
