Okay mate it could still be from JG 3 as they were only actually based at Pitomnik prior to late Dec 1942 but flew over the Stalingrad area from August . I am particulary looking for the crash site of Ritterkreuztrager Georg Schentke who was shot down on 25/12/42 over the Northern part of the Kessel.

After the Spanish Cross, I want to find a knight's cross
and also learn information about the dead soldiers who had been "Ritterkreuztrager"

Many RKT were KIA / MIA at Stalingrad , i am also searching for Willi Henz MIA since January 1943 in the area of Marinovka !!

I think it would still be possible to find a RK at Stalingrad !!
