    Yesterday night ... Mamaev Hill ...

    I found the position of the German machine gunner ...

    Nothing interesting, only shells ... hundreds of shells...

    One has to wonder how many men were killed or wounded by that huge pile of innocent looking old shell casings....How many lives ended in an instant from that heap of brass...

    I hope I can tell you more ... but later ...

    it's amazing to dig in this place ... until 3 am I was digging there

    here's the result ... but that's not all ... this is 50% of hole MG gunner

    I would imagine that the MG position being on Mamaev Hill, the directions of the contested attacks would have come from many directions.
