Strange items found on an RAF airfield
I have hosted images of these items several times on various forums but without a definate ID.
They are not bomb sway stays or gun mounts, They are Solid steel with small holes at the ends of the arms. No markings, and we have found three different sizes and all with a different 'rake' or angle of the arms to the peg or leg part.
Giving it another go just in case someone may have come across these type of items before, they were found on an RAF station, and we have about eight of them. They were buried with period junk so we know they were of wartime era.
Any clues? They are quite heavy so doubtful if they were aircraft related.
If anyone might know it will be Paul Bellamy!
