A few hours finds!

spent cartridges ( mainly german)

german cartridge "dusseldorf 1908"

parts of british fuses

Any ideas????

I also found a german spade that i have forgotten to photograph will post pic tomorrow!

I see the name of the thread has been changed .........sorry

as to how far down they were ,I had permission to search in the fields owned by the lady at the b n b i was staying in with the detector this yielded mainly shrapnel balls and a few pieces of fuse .
90% of the finds were found in a neighbouring field that had just been turned over by the farmer ( who gave me permission to walk his field ) with just my eyes as all the finds were on the surface including the spade and a very old champagne bottle with no cracks !

Some very nice finds indeed. Can you still make out any of the headstamps ?

As for your two little brass thingies, I believe they are from the inside of an artillery fuse. I have found a couple on an old range I go to in England. Can't remember what they are called now.........

A few of the cartridges are in a better condition than others and with a bit of a clean i will be able to read them will post back when i have so the experts can tell me about there origins!
