The Soldatenfriedhof is Saldus / Frauenburg over 21,000 now lie there , which Museum did you visit ?
The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

    1st July 1916

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Yes Oxalic acid that is correct! The Museum was in Riga and it had alot of WW2 stuff but also from WW1 and modern time. Very good museum, one of the best that i have been to. I think it was called Riga war museum or something like that

Thanks for posting pics, this trip together with You was great, You need to check Your helmet every 15 minutes, and all cleaning will take about 3 hours, after cleaning put it in solution of soda and then wash with great amount of running water.

The full thread about my digging in Kurland is https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/battl...kurland-20971/

I do a little digging here, and in Belgium and France, but not as often as I would like to. To much work, but soon I'll have some more time on my hand.
Would like to go digging in the East next year, but don't know exacly where yet.
