Two new airfield finds

Two new airfield finds to post.

First of all, a Type C6 runway flarepath light casting, part of the standard WWII Air Ministry "Drem" Airfield Lighting System MkII.
These were set into the runway edges at 300' intervals, with the light coming out of the slot on whichever was the approach end only visible to the pilot if he was coming in at the right angle:

And then there's this as-yet uncleaned item (penny for scale)...

I know what it is (otherwise I wouldn't have brought it home), but would anyone care to take a guess before I post clues?

Don't be silly ! A thingamajig is much bigger. That's an ooja-ma-flip........I am certain.

I like the kind of clues that involve a big picture, an arrow and the wording 'THIS BIT' on it.

Well if we had that we could see for sure that its either a thingamjig or a MkII Doo-hickey. Ooja-ma-flips were Navy issue anyway, everyone knows that.
