In one of the Pics was an old Weimar Republic buckle. Do you think the old soldiers may have worn their old prewar buckles or.......?

    This is a strange one

    Cheers,

    -Rob

Of course not uncommon to see photos of German Soldiers wearing pre third reich kit in the field !!

    No kidding Paul !

I must admit I have seen many bits of pre war equipment, but I would have thought with the difference in politics between the Weimar and Nazi state, this would have been verbotten.

Have you seen Weimar buckles before in old wartime pics?

    best regards,

    Jaeger

    P.S. Love your Wiking Badge!

Sometime in the past i have but don't have a copy of the photos of a Weimar buckle , once in the field all sort of different kit was worn !!

The badge refers to the Estonian SS Btl Narva who fought as part of Wiking in Southern Russia and at Cherkassy , it's the veterans badge !!

I have seen a Weimar belt buckle from a WWII wargrave in Estonia. As I remember it was from the year 1944 and an Estonian unit in German side. Sorry but I do not have a picture of it.
