I've been doing some more digging in the files.......
These two .50 cal cases:
The one on the left bears the headstamp RA 1940 50 CAL Z.
This was supplied by Remington for an early-war RAF contract.
The right-hand one, with the REM UMC 50 CAL headstamp, is a civillian-market Remington case, quite probably also supplied to the RAF, prior to the US joining the war.

Hi this is my first time on this site! I came here because i found LOADS (at least 10) tea ration cans in a pit in a field! They are in great condition and look just like the ones you found. There were also alot of glass bottles everywere, but they might have just been dumped there. Are the tea cans rare?
