    Could be a plug for a mortar ??, especially as it could also be a used ordnance dump

    Could be Dave but it'd be a big more. Seems more substantial than that, and the IZ (or ZI) denotes the explosive fill doesn't it ? It does on cartridges....... You'll get a better look at it in 4 weeks time Bring your thinking cap !

    Steve, i recon that blast cap could be the same as the one i found. Spotter said it was from a 75mm
