I went back today and had a few more nice finds including a couple of 45 heads loads of fuzes and their parts and dug up a complete bomb which stayed where it was ! And some other interesting bits I will put a pic up in a bit
Ok, the first batch of M104's have been cleaned. Reminder of the process.....
1. Smack them with a large hammer to remove rust layer
2. Wash and scrub them
3. Soak in Vinegar for 24+ hrs
4. Rinse all vinegar off and dry
5. Give them a good going over with a wire brush attachment on electric drill.
6. Clean with a Brillo pad and rinse thoroughly.
7. Dry
8. Take pictures and post on WRF
I've included a pic of how they looked originally so you don't have to go back through the thread
I think you'll agree they have come up quite nicely.....
This one has even been so kind as to 'section' itself
I have also discovered that every single one of them has a number stamped on the brass ring. All different......must be batch numbers.
Cheers

Very nice Steve, but typical of you , you forgot a crucial stage, "after drying let stand for two minutes", then you take photos, you'd be no good on Master Chef, not letting your meat stand !!!!!
Good!
Funny, thats not what she told me, she said you have to tie string around it then put it on a skewer, perhaps I heard it wrong
