    Hi all

Spent a few hours at the gunnery range I know of over on the coast this weekend. Decided to search an area I hadn't been to before. It paid off !

I knew the range had been used by large numbers of ground forces, and recently learnt that the USAAF and RAF had used the area for strafing practice. Last year I found lots of 20mm carts to prove this, and this time I backed up the discovery with a load of 50cals ! At one spot I got 6 out, all in a nice straight line about a foot apart

Many people don't like digging up cartridges but for me, I don't think I'll ever get bored of it

    Here come the pictures.

Only one Grenade base nut on this visit. Nice all the same

303s are the main find at this range. I used to go to an area where I'd get 200-300 in a couple of hours but have got so many from this range even I am getting a little tired of finding 303s !

Thirteen 9mm carts and one 380 cal cartridge. First one I've found at this range !

    A nice group of 45s.

And now the best finds of the search, twelve 50cals, all in superb condition.

That is the joy of this range. As it is on the coast, the cartridges sit in sand and so don't wallow in waterlogged soil. Because of this, the carts are always in superb condition and could probably be re-used !

    Hope you like the finds

    WOW again Steve.

I'm sure one of those .50 cals is mine. It has my initials on it to prove it

    Love the basenut.
