Well, Whitehunter, Luckystrike and myself have today returned to the dump and spent the whole day digging it. It is spread over quite an area but you can basically dig a hole and find relics from WW2 within an area about 200m x 50m. The crockery is usually smashed to pieces, but other stuff is in superb condition.
No pictures of stuffed clean today.......Just a teaser of the items I took home before they are cleaned. Keep an eye out for posts of the stuff once cleaned !!!
First picture is of items found in a very small area all on the surface, in a big bramble bush. With it being winter I was able to hack my way through it to retrieve them. Looks like a radio or radar set that has been smashed up on the surface. Lots of these items I can already see have AM code lettering and the 'AM' symbol so hopefully they will be identifiable.
Second load is all miscellaneous stuff found at various depths. The place is FULL of Merlin exhaust gaskets ! Lots of strange metal 'caps' with AM coding on them, and a circular Bakelite thing with a big arrow and 'To Windward' embossed at the end of the arrow.
Third picture is all the glassware, crockery and other items, (including some more superb bomb pistols). The crockery I took home has got lovely markings on them. I am already really excited about the Marmite and Bovril pots and the nail varnish bottles and I haven't even cleaned them !!!
I will be posting more pics throughout the week, as will WH and LS. A great day was had by all !!!
Cheers

That's the same AiX thread Steve...
Great haul Steve. I will clean my finds up asap
Here we go the first of my finds. There's no reason for the order other than they're the first items pulled out of my finds bags .
This is made of brass could it be a hose nozzel? It's marked and has suffered fire damage
A shaving cream jar, I've posted this because I've not seen one before it's usually in a tube.
(Apologies for the number of pictures of this but its well marked) An aircraft communications accumulator battery? This was found near the spot where Steve recovered all of his electrical components.
I like the remains of the painted details including its manufacture date, also shown are the Air Ministry and RAF markings. Can you think of any ideas what the hand painted F C could stand for?
Please note lots more will follow as the items are cleaned.
