Steve your belt hook is an intriguing find, it looks to me as if it is made of brass?, I always thought that German belt hooks were made of aluminium and later non discript sorts of white metal alloys?

Here are a few more cleaned finds from our recent search.

When I found this it was covered in rust and had no visable writing. I thought perhaps it was just a ring from an old oil lamp and almost didn't keep it. But Im pleased I did At home I put it in some derust treatment and left it for two days while I cleaned other finds.
So what a great surprise I got today when I pull it out, its in remarkable condition and there are traces of the original black paint.





This is some sort of tool but what? do you have any idea's what it was used for?



My final post for today is in remarkable condition, it's a length of aero oxygen hose with the original valve sockets.

Going on the size as given, the "clip" is a tunic belt hook.

Hi all

Due to some last minute rearranging and other factors out of our control, the three of us are having to visit the dump on separate weekends I went this weekend, LS and WH are due to go next weekend.

It was a bit lonely on my own and nowhere near as much fun but I did make some interesting finds. Only just got back so not cleaned anything yet, but here are some shots of all the stuff I brought back before any cleaning.

1st batch. Note the 303s and flare gun carts near the bottom.



Lots of bomb pistols again. 28s, 30s and 42s, all on the surface.



Big item at the top......is it a stirrup pump ? Should be able to tell more when it's cleaned.



Best find of the day is bottom right. Bent in half, rusty as hell, but definitely Sten gun magazines !!!



A close up of one of the mags, the top bit is quite distinctive. Wonder why on earth they had been bent in half like this ?



Anyways......best get on with the cleaning ! Lots more pics to come when I've cleaned stuff.

Your "big item...at the top" certainly has the look of a stirrup pump - just missing the foot plate!
Got rid of one a couple of years ago when I tidied up part of the cellar!
