Hi Steve,
just a couple of things as stated the buckles and fittings are from a 37 Pattern British army/RAF webbing belt with the exception of the 2" Raised Bar Slide buckle which is of U.S. manufacture Milspec # MIL-B-543 MS51927. As to the piece of aluminium with holes drilled through it, could this be a crudely made stencil for use on packing crates or similar items so that items didn't "Go missing" to another Air base, hanger or facility.

Also meant to say the "pipe thing" displayed in the picture showing the padlock clasp is the thread union from ether a braided fuel line or flexible oil line, again ether vehicle or aircraft related.

i think the roman could be a fake
The Villa site has actually been undergoing investigation by the local Archeologists for the last few years .. and still is !!
But very locally there has been quite a few 1st century broaches, plus coinage through 1st to 3rd centuries found.
There's no reason to assume the coin found as being a "fake", .. although there is the possibility of it being a contemporary copy .. which was not unheard of 1800 years back !
