    Thanks " LUCKYSTRIKE"

I searched on Google and some British spoons came up... but it didn't make sense to me that a British spoon would wound up in a German barracks...

Maybe it was a Christmas gift from the R.A.F, along with a couple hundred lbs of bombs.

My first find with my first metal detector
After about 5 minutes of searching I found this knife in 6 inches down in the mud.

    Any ideas on the knife?
I believe it is German.. as it was found along with other German stuff..

Well done for tracking down the knife you found. Good detective work

Here is an AM spoon I found on an English airbase. This spoon was badly corroded when I found it and a dull copper colour. I decided to take it back to 'shiney' just to see if it was possible. Here's the result.

You could do this with your spoon if you want, although I have only ever done it to this one as I like my relics to keep their condition normally.

I found a picture of what it looked like after I first cleaned it. Attached.

Anyway, thought I'd give you one as a comparison. Very nice but intriguing find !!!
