Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam!
Mongolian or Uzbek soldier (or officer) in winter wear with an interesting officer's belt - it seems the prong holes have stitched or metallic eyelets.
Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam!
Wonderful and interesting portraits.
This Sr. Lt. wears a pockletless gymasterka normally reserved for soldiers. Note the trophy German belt buckle.
Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam!
Dated 2 January 1945 - Hand written in charcoal pencil on reverse (loosely translated): "I am sending you this photo after being in the hospital in (illegible town) during the Great Patriotic War. I request to you to take care of yourself. I give to you this photo my brother Mikhail for memory. From your brother, Leonid".
Note the unusual belt configuration, "star-cockardeless" pilotka on this Sergeant, as well as the over-sized gymnasterka and shavaroni ...
Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam!
