Chained NSKK dagger - Fr. v.d Kohlen - Schlesien
Hi all,
This NSKK dagger was given to me recently by my grandfather, and I would love to hear your opinion about it.
Manufacturer: Fr. v.d Kohlen
SA gruppe: S Schlesien
It looks like the eagle has been replaced/restored at some point.

Hello yes pictures do tell a lot.. this is a reproduction scabbard and fake chain sorry! The holes in the links should be horseshoe shaped and not round like on yours.. furthermore the stamp is of.. the quality overall lacks to be near anything real.. maybe a reason why you didn't show the top link..
You can have a look in this thread to see how a real one should look like! Without casting blobs all over..

The Good : Scabbard and dagger are authentic ...nice blade
The Bad : The Chain as the Colonel pointed out
The Ugly : The Grip eagle and runes button were added recently to the grip and a very bad wood filler job. Almost laughable

Thanks Larry! Yes I've read through some of the threads already.
I would give XZ the benefit of the doubt as not all new members would know to post exactly what we look at at everyday in what we examine.
