Default Early Klittermann & Moog from Gruppe Westmark

I have seen this one for sale and am thinking of getting it. I would like your opinion first though. Doesn't look to have been messed with. Ade will be pleased to see the handle is correctly placed! There is some pitting on the blade, handle isn't perfect and the scabbard has been creased a little at some stage. That said, it is a rare maker of the SA Dienstdolch. He is asking $600 - is that a little high in view of the damage?

Like the look of the blade and burnishing of the motto. Just a great maker mark, one of my favorites! Shame about the scabbard being painted over the anodized finish but as long as it was period done? The asking price isn't unreasonable but you do have some damage to deal him down with.. good luck! Kevin.

Hi Al..missed matched late scabbard to an early dagger. The scabbard fittings appear to be nickel but the scabbard may be repainted.Crossguards have that Eickhorn trait to them..but Eickhorn supplied alot of their guards to many other producers. The fit appears to be loose in some spots..but looks ok. Hard to say if this dagger was parted together or not. The logo I love..and for it being a "5" on the Rarity list ...im just surprised to see one of these period !!. The blade condition..is lacking and could be better. $600 is a little high for this dagger..but the question is...would this be a good temporary space filler..until another Moog comes along? These SA Moogs are just not seen anymore. Negotiate a lower price if you desire a parted dagger. Regards Larry

    alikat,

Not a bad SA dagger but the scabbard repaint & dents puts me off !

I would wait on another in much better condition.

The painted and dented scabbard would hold me back from buying this.
Other then that im not to convinced that this hardware is Klitterman completely.
I would pass on this one.

    Regards,
    Ger
