Re: Help Identfy
Hi Josh, the bayonet is an original parade or dress bayonet. Value is around £50/£60.
Don't be tempted to clean or oil any of these items.
Simply wipe off any finger prints with a clean dry white cloth.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Help Identfy
Sometimes oil can cause greying on some plated blades. Much better to use a Musuem grade wax. Not cheap, but Renaissance wax is very good.
On a blued combat bayonet oil is OK.

Re: Help Identfy
BTW I forgot to add that your dagger came from SA Gruppe Westfalen.
Was your Grandad a British Veteran Josh? As they liberated the area. I have a SA Rohm dagger from the same area.
Cheers, Ade.
