Thats whats puzzling and disturbing at the same time..as why only a few producers might of chose this path if true. I can see your point Fred which makes sense with the bayos and the "karbiner..being abbreviated.
The question which remains unanswerable..until proof surfaces..that these handful of produces are considered contentious..or "risky" on 2 reasons..one being that the decimal point which is not specified but assumed..the other..is there RZM permit of issue...which includes sightings................

These few producers dared to be rebels against the RZM cause...and put decimal points on the RZM number. IMO it makes no sense as why only about 9 off these produces out of over a hundred did this.

Faked Soldbuchs with SS numbers of officers that are bottom feeders..are always a great scam...hard to prove otherwise..to the untrained eye. Regards Larry

Or...is it the signature of a modern day etcher leaving his "mark"? If this is so, the faker is an artist, as I can see nothing wrong with the etchings of any of the decimal point blades. An odd mystery,in any case.

To add to the different things that are seen there (apparently) was in fact a rebellion with the dual marked (RZM/TM) blades. And subcontractors with an "h" (hilfsbetrieb) suffix - number assigned to those businesses - although I have no immediate recollection of seeing such a mark. And the fact that the published period specifications for the Hitlerjugend knives went somewhat 'sideways' not that long after they were published. (And I'm still looking for a period German text that describes the political daggers specifications, and the corresponding period DIN specifications that could be cross referenced with contemporary period U.S. standards).
