Hi Lupus.... I need some better eyes on the name on the upper scabbard fitting as I am working off my iPhone and the image is not clear enough. The name almost looks like someone took dremel tool to it and scribed the name in. The producer is a very early SA maker from the beginning of production . A desirable maker to have in an early collection. Someone with a bigger screen should be able to comment on the authenticity of the engraving. Best Regards Larry

Hi Larry
Here's a better picture for you, and view the entire dagger.
I would welcome advice to buy or not to buy, the price of a dagger is $ 500 now, but will definitely be higher.
Regards Daniel
Hi Lupus thank you for the better pics...and your patience from earlier today. #1....the price has reached over its limit from this auction house in the condition it is in...it is not worth that kind of money and may well end up going for the same price that dealers charge.
As far as the personalization on the scabbard fitting..In my opinion..I feel it was recently done..to raise the value of the dagger. Its well over the price its worth. The dagger itself is desirable and the Gruppe mark "He"....Hessen district,,, is correct for this maker. Aukro is not on the top of the list for being a reputable auction house as I have seen alot of questionable items come from there.
Thankyou Daniel for sharing your concerns and photos. We are always here to help...take a look in the SA dagger forum when you have some time..alot of great reference material to be read and seen. Best Regards Larry

Very well Gerrit pohodě militaria
Very well Gerrit
Larry another obvious thing in this case is following:
23/M15 is a Motorstandarte number, so in this case the scabbard should be black for a NSKK
Lets call that a bit stupid shall we?
Cheers,
Ger
