The E, Pack SA does not have much toning, if any left in the motto,
so I guess the maker logo has been polished out as you suggest.....!
The HJ is an early 'Blut Und Ehre' by Paul Selheimer.
Regards, Steve.
Steve thanks for your great pic of the hj knife ect, early hjs are pure Quality, Paul Selheimer is not too often seen & quite a hard maker to find a decent example of imo.

Cheers Scott.
You're welcome, Scott !
There is no leather buffer pad on the HJ, but I've been told
the early ones did not have them.
I remember reading somewhere that the HJ knives cost only
1.50 DM back then, and SA's were around 3.50 DM.
Old Adolf sure got the cutlery business moving in the '30's !
Steve, early no ricasso hjs did have leather buffer pads but most are lost to time due to deterioration, yours has a very short ricasso with no bottom retaining hook/notch on the blade which differ from each maker on early hjs.
