Well Gents this one is up for review, the owner, a fellow collector named Rafael has bought this as an Ex-Rohm dagger.
Now first what you all will say is that the logo should be the little one close to the crossguard and not the big double oval like this one has.
Please keep an open mind.....Google on rohm daggers and you will find threads with Eickhorn Rohm daggers with the proper etsing , esp.scharp etched R in Rohm etc... they are approved in different threads of WW2 forums.

Ralph Siegert states in his SA dagger book on page 277:
" komplett geschliffene Rohmdolch mit groben fruhen Eickhorn doppeloval".....

my 2 cents on this one however are: there has never been a dedication on this one, did not find any traces.
It looks like a factory regrain, but why on hell would a german craftsman remove half of the factory logo when the dedication stops a mile before...
I guess this one is abused to look like a ex-Rohm just for the money.

I dare you all to give your opinions about this one, but please google a bit before on the big oval and the Rohm variant.
I know the dagger has some issues like the repainted anodized scabbard, the polished blade, missing screw but please dont look at them, issue here is: could this be an Ex-Rohm?
    Cheers Ger

I cannot see anyone taking out the makers mark to make a "fake" ground Rohm. So unless this was done just to remove rust marks or the like, I would say it is a ground Rohm.

    Cheers, Ade.

This is a ground Rohm and a professional regrain,,, as Eickhorn also made these with the large double oval in the standard position. It is also common to see half if not all of a logo nearly ground off. The grinder did not have a dremel to make a precise removal but was used on a larger wheel,,,some grinders were more careful than others. There is a noticeable trait you can look for,, to see if it was a Rohm at one time is to look down the spine ,,,looking down from the crossguard to the tip and you should notice a slight wave in the spine in the center of the blade...most of the time this is noticeable. Below is a photo of a completely different Rohm Maker with half the logo ground off. This is a very common practice. Regards Larry
