Default SA Dienstdolch- Real or Fake?

I have an SA dagger or possibly a replica. Looking for a bit of help to determine whether it's genuine. I've had a friend who is a bit of an expert in the field examine it and he's said there is definitely some red flags that suggest it's fake but at the same time he was a bit confused that other aspects of it didn't appear fake. His concern was the large amount of wear on the eagle which he said didn't match up with the quality they were typically produced in. In any event, I'd appreciate any help you can offer. Hi, and welcome to the forum!

The dagger may have been made up from parts. The blade and crossguards are later lower quality RZM issue. Looking at the scabbard fitting this appears to be an earlier higher quality nickle plated fitting? Note the bad fit of the dagger to the scabbard.

It would be useful to see the rest of the scabbard.

Clearly there is a big problem with the grip eagle. Not sure if it is a badly damaged original later issue alloy eagle or a outright poor quality fake?

    Cheers, Ade.

My first thought was parts dagger too, at best.

Thank you Gents, that is a great help. I've attached a photo of the entire dagger in it's scabbard.

What might you expect an item like this to sell for, all things considered?

It is in poor condition, so it is not worth a great deal - not even
if it were a complete original - there is too much wear
    and damage.

Please put the dagger in the scabbard the right way around before Ade sees's it
PS the scabbard is the wrong one for a RZM dagger (it should be painted), so must agree all the above comments, most likeley all the parts dagger,
    cheers Ronnie

It's possible that 'refinishing' - or what looks like sanding ( Arrrghh ! )
of the wood grip is what has ruined the eagle.........

    Steve.

    Thanks for the extra photo.

It has confirmed it is a "parts dagger".

I cannot help on a value, sorry.

    Cheers, Ade.
