The hole in the tang is an easy giveaway.
These bargains quickly fall apart in the light of day.
Thanks Paul. Does it means that a tang with a hole in it, always means fake? I did not knew that. :-)
I never say always but... on SS blades marked 1211/39 ALWAYS.
Now on Klaas army daggers we often see a hole.
Thank you Paul for enlightening me. Cheers.
On the other hand,... if this is a fake blade,... then why should a faker make a hole in the tang?
Hole in tang = Death Knell. Just another 1211/39 fake. As I said before, some collectors won't even consider these and think of them All as suspect. But in any case-this one is absolutely not authentic. (btw..there's no paint above the eagles head, but you can see where it Was. The seller has noticed it and scratched it off, from the looks of it, but you can still see the traces on the runes button, the wing tip and also, it looks, the inside of the upper guard)
