A long time ago in a land far,far away....
Im Stunned. I would love to see this in Hand Philly boy. Type II connectors / Type 3 Tabs. Himmler Inscription. There has to be a ton of Horror within this ensemble..and the name on the crossguard.
This Initial production CH SS is everything to be expected of this early type in details. Bravo Regards Larry

Extraordinary dagger. And the combination of attributes!
An amazing piece, by any way of looking at it. It's history must be a page turner, for sure. A Dachau Colonel....It should be fascinating to keep an eye on it's progress!

Anyone know roughly how many of these are out there and who would be awarded such a dagger?
There were 200 of the Himmler daggers given out. They were issued to SS members who had participated in the 1934 bloody murders of the so-called "Night of the Long Knives".

Both chained and Himmler daggers are very common. At one MAX show in the 1990s someone counted 55 SS chained daggers. The number of Himmler daggers given out has to be more than 200. They were widely saved in excellent condition. There are probably more than 200 daggers still existing today in collections.

An interesting world you seem to live in Max...

How much does a chained dagger like this might cost?
