How and Where to buy,, first one must not just jump at the first SS dagger they see,, the real learning experience is when one holds back from first temptation. Read and study for yourself and ask tons of questions!! If the opportunity arises,,then the best study would be an in hand inspection. Photos are second best and most of the time, are not too reliable because of imperfect photography. Even the best photos still lack details as they are only 2 dimensional. Knowledge does not come out of the clear blue sky,, it must be worked at and earned. Most people are in too much of a rush these days to slow down and take in what is important,,only to get by with a little,, and receive what they paid for. That doesnt sound too promising when some expect things to happen overnight! Study pays off in the long run and the reward is great for those who persevere and are patient to wait for a decent dagger example to surface. Do not settle for less, it is is within your means to pay a little more. If you pay and settle for less.....then you get less! That is the "How"..............The Where" to buy a dagger ,, these days is by word of mouth,,, and that word carries from satisfied customer to the next. Do not put your trust in unheard of auction sites,, and other online agencies that sell for dirt cheap,, but only go by word of mouth,, if someone has had a good repeated experience. "The Where" to buy is up to you and if it is in your means to do so. Weigh out your options and compare quality and price,, with quality being your #1 priority. Then work your way down to the best affordable price. Quality is everything when collecting these artifacts and never sell yourself short in quality because the price is affordable. In the long run you will have great satisfaction, and be able to enjoy the history of it and the investment. It only gets better in time!

Hello If your going to collect TR militaria it is good idea to have a direction. If you want to collect just SS you will need a very good job. For the price of a nice SS dagger you can get a SA, Army, Luftwaffe 2nd, a HJ and a decent Navy. I like buckles and you can get 15-25 buckles including a SS for the price of a nice SS dagger. There is lots of different areas of TR collecting that you can have a decent little collection for 2-3K.

Kirby has given you some good advice, any thing to do with the SS is always more expensive than any thing else in the TR period. If you decide to get a SS Totenkopf ring please be careful most of the rings for sale are fake, the real ones can go for 20 grand or higher.
