I don't think anyone missed that -- seems the real issue is the difference in spelling (yes, both correct) coupled with the missing "F"... which is of course the real "error" here.

That means you either type Gräfrath or Graefrath, both are properly spelled.
That it misses the F in the logo is of course not done....

Well, about the Gau mark. There are SS daggers with those markings. They normally were for SA-daggers indeed butGents a little bit of knowledge of the German language is needed here.

man can observe some SS-daggers aswell with those markings from time to time. Even some chained SS daggers have them.
Maybe they used them to fill a gap of empty stock of SS guards.
Well Kris i know that we see those SS daggers from time to time with Gau markings, but No-ONE has ever explained why they would take 5 year old "stock" instead of the plated potmetal guards that where used for years......
Did the factory had stamped ones on stock? or...whats more plausable: they stamped only on sold lots........
Or they are repaired ones, so destroy a SA dagger to create a SS one...why not remove the Gaumarking then...
To me it just doesnt make sense...but He! thats just my opinion, for me they are partsdaggers no more no less......just my opinion..

Well, removing the Gaumarkings maybe wasn't such a priority.
Great observations Gents..I have always seen it with the "F" also. Need to be careful of thee blades especially if they are period Blanks with a recent applied laser etch. take a close look under an eye loop and see if there is any acid etching roughness around the edges of the logo. If its smooth and precise cut looking..it will be a laser etch.
Also let me now of any tang markings so I can cross reference it with other producers including Jacobs if they were supplied this blade or forged it themselves. Regards Larry
