Hi Jacob, RZM M7/80 is for maker Gustav C. Spitzer, Solingen.

By why on earth buy one with a post war repro blade?

    Cheers, Ade.

as the real complete and 100% originals are way to expensife for me

but didt c gustav made ss blades as this was a heeres dagger producer

do you know what the other numbers mean
ore are they the same as m7/80

Look at the thread directly above this I pinned a thread with a list of RZM makers codes. But the other numbers are the SS contract codes. Some of these on other daggers are still unknown.

Spitzer made many different types of daggers.

    Cheers, Ade.

Hi Jacob, I cannot tell much from that, but the grip does not look right either. Far too brown in colour for any original SS grip. Walk away from this one and save your money for something original and untouched. I would sooner have an original untouched humble "tinnie" rally badge than a messed about with dagger.

    Cheers, Ade.

    hi ade

i told the dealler that also

to me it looks like an darkend SA handle with missing SA logo
also the scabbard has something weard

it is black but underneed that there is an brownish look
also the same collor you would expact on a sa scabbard

could be a nskk scabbart whit parts dagger
as you said run away from
but i dont have the jackpot for a real one oh well i`ll keep searching

    Hi Jacob, that is best.

I know it is hard for younger collectors on limited means (and older ones too!) when you would like to buy expensive rarer items for your collection. Sometimes it is best to set your sights a bit lower than SS items.

I have been at this hobby now for 33 years. I think we all start out the same way. We all want the "Gucci" things first! But now I have found that anything original will give me the same "buzz". This is regardless of price or rarity. A £5 tinnie, like I mentioned, will give me the same thrill as spending hundreds of Pounds.

Also things do come in time. Sometimes you will think that you will never own that elusive rare item. Patience is a real virtue here. I never though I would ever own an Fallschirmjager helmet, but I did get one in the end, some ten years ago now. Another thing is to build up a circle of friends and make good contacts. This is a good way to find nice items, often at fair prices.

    Cheers, Ade.

    hi ade

    your absolutly wright whit that
i can remember that i wanted a heeres dagger in the beginning
i have surtched for about a year to find one that was in my budget and bought it it was one whit troddel and gehang price 350
in jused condition i was really happy whit it untill i saw better once for about 100 more.oh did i mention i was 17 when i bouth that one before that i was collecting all sorts of ww2 items sold it all to collect only german military

now i have come to a point that i only want to collect items that er in nice condition and not messed whit except the ss dagger as these are still hard to come by and verry expencife

but as you said there comes a point when you find one for a nice price and youll be happy whit it untill you find an other item you always wanted

    cheers jacob
