    Nick,
I have, and use all three of those products, Autosol, Flitz and Simi chrome in making my miniatures. I use Autosol the most though. It seems to take the least labour and I like the results and finish after.

Use the Simichrome sparingly, go with the cross grain, and don't get carried away with it.

Simichrome or the other cleaning type will not make the blade Near Mint to Mint..due to its condition...but yet you will see a very noticeable difference after the cleaning. There is some irremovable finger print stains below the steel...but the surface dirt and other junk can be removed. Looking forward to any after pics of the blade. I would like to see a closeup of the producer logo when you get a chance to see what variant was used..and Im assuming it may be early. Regards Larry

Thankyou Nick for the cleaned up blade that shows..you have a fist type Logo used by this producer..another hard feat to accomplish..collecting these Boker types. This IMO is a great find. See below the difference in the Boker logo types. This is a goal of mine to find one of these first type dagger variant with the smaller lightning bolt runes. You have one Nick Regards Larry

The left photo being the early logo used and the photo on the right..the commonly seen 2nd type variant
