Need opinions on SS dagger with missing eagle...

Hi Darren, you are getting a bit confused here.

All you need to an early nickle silver eagle. Don't worry about the makers markings. Actually I am not 100% sure about that eagle, not sure if it is dirt/tarnish or bad finish, but enough to make me pass on it.

Read up about the production of SA & SS daggers. You can translate the site with Google:

Hi all,

I received a correct nickel eagle in the mail today and, with a lot of patience I applied the eagle successfully to the grip. It was a bit trickier than I anticipated but I think it looks awesome. My only regret is not using gloves during the process since my fingers wiped most of the natural patina from the eagle. It would have been a dead-on match in terms of color otherwise. I'll need to read up on ways to patina nickel and see if I can bring it back the color back.

Thats not a bad result Dyzner, glad it worked out for you, i wouldnt worry too much about the eagle colour ,that should dull down in a few weeks, the natural oils in your fingers removed the thin patination, but they might also help to recolour it in a short time, will pm you about another matter

Looks ok now. It's hard to see much detail on the site as the photos
